Strengthening and stretching your face and neck muscles will help you maintain youthful skin over the years.
The facial gymnastics is a method that involves exercising the muscles of the face. Some exercises are inspired by physiotherapy and, through them, the distension is corrected and the force of gravity is counteracted, keeping the muscles elastic and restoring tone.
Like the other parts of the body, the muscles of the face and neck can be exercised with exercises that:
- Stimulate facial circulation
- Relax the muscles
- Strengthen the facial muscles
- Tone and accentuate all facial muscles
- Protect bone structure
These three exercises that you will find below are an example. You can practice them daily:
1. Strengthen the face
With an open mouth a wide and exaggerated laugh is outlined, stretching and separating the angles of the mouth as much as possible.
- Hold the pose for 10 seconds.
- Repeat 15 times.
2. Tone the neck
The neck is stretched, lifting the chin and pulling the jaw forward.
- Stay in this posture of maximum tension for 5 seconds and relax.
- Repeat 10 times.
3. Shape the cheeks
Press the jaws together, puffing out the mouth with air and resting the index finger on the cheeks.
- Hold the pose for 5 seconds.
- Repeat 10 times
